Custom Home Building
Ground-up custom homes built to a higher standard.
A home built to a higher standard — and a process to match
Building a custom home is the largest construction project most families ever take on. The result should be exceptional, and the process shouldn’t be a mystery. IronCrest builds ground-up custom homes across greater Houston with the same discipline we bring to commercial work: a real schedule, an honest budget, quality checked at every phase, and one point of contact who actually answers the phone.
What’s included
- Lot evaluation & feasibility — soils, drainage, utilities, setbacks, and deed restrictions reviewed before you commit.
- Design & permitting coordination — we work alongside your architect and engineers (or bring trusted partners) and carry the plans through permitting.
- Site work & foundation — pad, drainage, and foundation engineered for Houston’s expansive clay soils.
- Full construction — framing through finish-out, executed by vetted trades under active supervision.
- Milestone communication — scheduled updates, photo documentation, and walkthroughs at every major phase.
Built for the Gulf Coast from the ground up
A Houston home has to be built for this climate: expansive soils that demand a properly prepared pad, rainfall that demands real drainage design, heat and humidity that punish shortcuts in the building envelope, and wind ratings that matter. These aren’t upgrades on our builds — they’re the baseline.
Our process
- Discovery & feasibility — your vision, your budget, and whether the lot supports both.
- Design & budget alignment — plans, selections, and an itemized budget locked before ground breaks.
- Construction — a published milestone schedule, active site management, and quality inspections at each phase.
- Walkthrough & warranty — a zero-punch-list handover and a builder who’s still reachable after closing.

Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to build a custom home?
Most custom homes run 8–14 months from permit to move-in depending on size, complexity, and weather. We publish a milestone schedule up front and report against it throughout the build.
Can you help before we have plans?
Yes — the earlier the better. We evaluate lots, advise on buildability and drainage, and coordinate with architects and engineers so the design fits both your vision and your budget.
How do you handle budget transparency?
With an itemized budget, defined allowances, and written change orders. You'll never discover a cost after the fact that we knew about before it.
Where do you build?
Across greater Houston — including The Woodlands, Katy, Cypress, Spring, Conroe, Sugar Land, and Pearland — on your lot or one we help you evaluate.
